1. Definitions
- Consultant forensic expert: a qualified expert listed in DIFE or DGFC who gives consultations through this website.
- Client: any person or organisation that requests an expert's contact details or a consultation.
- Consultation: an online session of two hours in total, which may be split into two meetings within one week, giving expert medico-legal guidance.
- Platform: Zoom, Jitsi, Google Meet or any other online meeting service chosen by the administrators.
- Fee: the amount shown on the expert's page or on the request page. The minimum fee for one consultation with an Indian expert is INR 5,000; fees may differ between experts.
2. How a request works
- The client chooses an expert and asks either for the expert's contact details or for an online consultation.
- The client pays the fee in advance through the payment link shown, and enters the transaction reference.
- An administrator checks the payment and approves the request by hand. Until then, the expert's email address and telephone number are not shared.
- After approval, the client receives the contact details, or the date, time and link of the consultation, by email.
3. Consultation
- The consultation is for education and guidance. It is not a substitute for legal advice, a court decision, a post-mortem examination or a medico-legal report.
- The date and time are set according to the availability of the consultant forensic expert.
- The client must send all questions, documents and relevant material at least 48 hours before the first meeting.
- The client is responsible for a working device, internet connection and access to the platform.
- Extra time beyond two hours is charged separately.
- A consultation does not include expert testimony, a written report or appearance in court, unless separately agreed in writing with the expert.
4. Refunds, cancellation and rescheduling
- Cancellations must be requested by email at least 48 hours before the first scheduled meeting.
- Cancelled more than 48 hours before the first meeting: full refund minus administrative charges of INR 500.
- Cancelled less than 48 hours before, or not attended: no refund.
- One reschedule is allowed if requested at least 24 hours in advance. Further changes count as a cancellation.
- If the expert cannot hold the meeting, it will be rescheduled or the fee refunded in full.
- Fees for contact details are not refundable once the details have been sent.
5. Liability
- The expert gives an opinion based on the information supplied and on scientific reasoning. Neither the expert, Forensicindia.com, GLAFIMS Academy nor the GLAFIMS Association accepts legal liability for the use, misuse or outcome of the opinion.
- Payment terms, confidentiality, scope of work and disclaimers for any further engagement (reports, testimony) are agreed directly between the expert and the client.
- Clients should verify an expert's credentials before engaging them. The administrators verify listings but cannot guarantee their accuracy or completeness.
6. The expert directories
- Experts join voluntarily, with their explicit consent, and their page is published only after an administrator has verified it.
- Only professional details (name, qualification, specialisation, institution, city, country, fee and optional photograph) are public. Email address, telephone, WhatsApp number and address are visible only to the administrators and are shared with a client only after payment and approval.
- Experts can sign in to update their page, mark themselves unavailable, or ask for their page to be removed at any time. Requests are handled within 15 working days.
- Copying the directories in bulk, scraping, or using the details for marketing is not allowed.
- Personal data is not sold or shared with advertisers.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
